Senior Associate

Job Description:
This position requires a commitment to excellence, the willingness to learn and the passion to deliver outstanding client service. A friendly, outgoing and detail-oriented person with accounting and tax experience is needed to provide accounting and tax-related services to business clients and their owners. The ideal candidate is highly dependable, works well with a team and shows leadership potential; the applicant should be available to work overtime during tax busy season.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or review individual and corporate tax returns (including extensions)
  • Prepare trial balances, reconcile bank and credit accounts, reconcile general ledger accounts from supporting documentation, prepare accrual basis to cash basis conversions
  • Prepare and/or review of informational tax returns and payroll tax returns
  • Prepare compiled financial statements including supporting work papers and checklists
  • Maintain and update clients’ fixed assets records
  • Respond to tax notices
  • Use research skills to grow technical expertise and provide value-added advice for clients
  • Seek opportunities to pursue new clients and to provide additional services to existing clients
  • Participate in practice development and assist as needed with proposals
  • Involved in training of new staff and associates
  • Work closely with management on continual improvement of team processes and procedures

 

Education and Experience

  • BS in Accounting from an accredited university (Masters in Accounting or Tax preferred)
  • 3-5 years of public accounting experience
  • Ability to follow instructions as directed and apply new concepts
  • Desire to maintain and grow client relationships
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Takes appropriate actions without being asked
  • Shows leadership and can drive projects from start to finish
  • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks a plus
  • Knowledge of Ultratax CS and Workpapers CS a plus
  • Active CPA certification required
